Barça Set to Play Inaugural Game at Partially Completed Camp Nou on Saturday

Barça revealed their first game will take place at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou this Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Basque side in domestic competition two and a half years after they moved out to allow renovations to start.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity with 45,401 fans will be allowed to watch under the licence granted. Once fully finished, the Camp Nou is due to hold close to 105,000 fans, a rise from the old capacity. Barça announced completed upgrades featured an updated entryway for the team plus modern locker rooms.

Barça organized an open training session on the home pitch earlier this month. The club said approval is being pursued by UEFA to play their next home Champions League game versus the German side on 9 December at Camp Nou. They have been hosting matches at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
